Manor Independent School District
Counselor/ Art Teacher
I am completing my 16th year in Manor ISD, where I have worked as an elementary art teacher and 5th grade teacher at Manor Elementary and for the past eight years, as a school counselor at Oak Meadows Elementary. I am excited to be returning to art next year as the art teacher at Manor Middle School .

My Bachelor's degree is in Industrial Design, Visual Communications - art and graphic design from Ohio State. I also have a Masters degree ( Ohio University) and Ph.D. (Virginia Tech) both in Education Administration and a Masters Degree in Professional Counseling from Texas State.

While working with elementary students as an art teacher and counselor, I have discovered how art can help children discover things about themselves and express their ideas, while exploring different art materials. Art activities may also help children further develop fine motor skills in their hands, particularly important for getting ready to write.

I will be presenting summer art ideas that are easy and fun for young children using inexpensive materials.
